interim principal

As we navigate this unexpected leadership change at Snyder Primary School, we are fortunate to have a strong team that has worked diligently to ensure smooth campus operations. Mrs. Kathryn Spence stepped up immediately as Acting Principal, and Mrs. Madelyn Lewis also assumed additional responsibilities while we regrouped and planned the next steps. Their commitment during this period speaks volumes, and they will undoubtedly continue to play integral roles in our school’s success.

After careful consideration, we have decided that holding interviews for the Principal position in the spring semester is the best course of action. This approach will allow us the time needed to find the right leader for Snyder Primary School and to align our hiring process with a more optimal recruitment window.

In the meantime, we are pleased to announce that Mr. Bobby Fryar has been named Interim Principal. A West Texas native from Coahoma and a graduate of Angelo State University, Mr. Fryar brings 28 years of experience as an educator, coach, campus principal, and superintendent. After retirement, he has continued to serve schools in interim roles, guiding districts through transitions successfully. His wealth of experience will ensure the stability we need as we move forward.

Although Mr. Fryar currently resides in Abilene, he is excited to join the Snyder community during his time at Snyder Primary. He will focus on maintaining stability, continuing our current initiatives with PLCs and HQIM implementation, and streamlining communication. With his arrival, Mrs. Spence will return to her role as Assistant Principal, focusing on academic support to ensure our staff has the resources they need to deliver the best possible educational experience to our students.

You are invited to meet Mr. Fryar at the upcoming Snyder Primary School Parent Night on Monday, October 14th, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm.  While you enjoy all the fun activities, please stop by and say hello.  He is eager to meet our school community.

Thank you for your patience and support, especially during this time of change. Together, we will continue to provide the supportive and enriching environment that makes Snyder Primary such a special place.

Sincerely,
Bob Rauch
Superintendent, Snyder ISD
